“Omnia vincit labor” — Work overcomes everything.
The coat of arms of Auvergne is a golden shield on which appears a red gonfanon (a medieval banner) bordered in green. This symbol recalls the authority of the counts and dukes of Auvergne in the Middle Ages. Yellow evokes wealth and light, red power and valor, while green emphasizes anchoring in the fertile lands of the region.
